I actually bought this back around Christmas for WF and just took it out to the range a couple of weeks ago with a friend. It is an Arsenal AK-47 with a synthetic stock and fore grip. Have been having a hell of a time finding ammunition for it, and what I do have I really don’t want to shoot it. Magazines, same thing. The rifle only came with a CA legal 7 round magazine.
We ran about 80-100 rounds through the rifle without a malfunction and did not need to zero. Straight out of the box it was dead on at 50m and stepping back to 75m adding a bit of elevation it was still dead on.
This is my first AK and I must be retarded. I just cannot get the hang of swapping out the magazines. To me there are extra steps, I even tried using a second mag to release and swat away the empty mag then hooking and rocking back into the well the fresh mag. I have seen videos where guys are knocking out the empty and rocking home the new mag in seconds.
It is just going to practice and having been behind the M-16/4, AR platform it is a whole different set of mechanics. Actually my friend and I figured out, that if you don’t think about the process of mag changing and just do it, the mag swaps went quicker. We were over thinking the process. But still spent most of our time fumbling.
Great gun though. All machined and no stamped parts. Close to my Daniel Defense AR in weight. What a dream to clean, only 5 major parts and dis-assembly and assembly is a breeze. About 15 mins. to do a thorough cleaning and back in the safe. My AR? about an hour. Maybe I’m just OCD.
